A short history;
Joseph, the first Polglase to arrive in NZ, was born in Truro, Cornwall in 1815. He married
Johanna Jenkins and migrated to Aust in 1846 and thence to NZ, arriving in Nelson on Xmas Day 1854 from Melbourne on the SV 'Rollo'. His first son, Joseph (jnr), married Caroline. I am a descendant of Joseph (jnr) and a 5th generation New Zealander.

Sue and Mum. Me and Nana.

Cuba St Wellington. Note Evans Drapery in background. In those days shopping was wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. (See Sues parcel). Mum used to haunt Evanses for the bargains. Always a photographer in the vicinity.

I should know . . .

Who this is. I think she was a friend of Nana and Mum as she is in a few pics of both.
