A short history;
Joseph, the first Polglase to arrive in NZ, was born in Truro, Cornwall in 1815. He married
Johanna Jenkins and migrated to Aust in 1846 and thence to NZ, arriving in Nelson on Xmas Day 1854 from Melbourne on the SV 'Rollo'. His first son, Joseph (jnr), married Caroline. I am a descendant of Joseph (jnr) and a 5th generation New Zealander.

Warren Berry, Wendy and friends

Wendy arrived in Sydney to see a friend from Christchurch who was 'dating' Warren. Warren (my friend) was a playboy, gambler, his father ( a wealthy Bookie) owned 'Holyoak' the old stately private hotel that was converted into flatting. This is us picking Wendy up from Sydney Airport.

Holyoak

In its earlier heydays before being converted into single units for flatters. The bay windows had tables where we used to gather and play cards and talk into the early hours.
